The course is an introduction to computational approaches to representing and processing meaning in natural language. The course takes a scientific perspective on the subject and focuses on interpretable models that potentially have cognitive plausiblity. If you are interested rather in the engineering field of NLP and state-of-the-art predictive models, this course may not be to your benefit.
Prerequisites
- COGS 501 and 502, or equivalent background.
